Vacuum decay log

Log micron readings over time or with a built in timer. See a live graph and the rise rate in microns per minute.

What this means

After isolating the vacuum pump, a system that is tight and dry should hold. A reading that rises fast and keeps rising suggests a leak. A reading that rises then levels off often suggests moisture boiling off. This log shows the trend; the manufacturer's target decides pass or fail.

Formula used

  • Rise rate (microns/min) = (last reading − first reading) ÷ (last time − first time)
