HVAC unit converter

Convert pressure, temperature, airflow, capacity and length units used on HVAC jobs. Every unit updates at once.

What this means

Unit conversion helps compare gauge readings, equipment ratings and manuals that use different units. Pressure references matter: psig is gauge pressure, while psia and the units labelled absolute use an absolute reference. The converter assumes sea level atmospheric pressure for the gauge to absolute offset. Confirm the reference and units of your instrument before using a converted reading.

Formula used

  • Pressure: psia = psig + 14.696 (sea level assumption)
  • Temperature: °C = (°F − 32) × 5 ÷ 9; K = °C + 273.15
  • Airflow: CFM = L/s × 2.11888; CFM = m³/h × 0.588578
  • Capacity: 1 refrigeration ton = 12,000 BTU/h; 1 kW = 3412.14 BTU/h
  • Length: 1 m = 3.28084 ft; 1 ft = 12 in
  • Linear units: output = input × source factor ÷ destination factor; pressure and temperature reference offsets are applied separately
