Interactive psychrometric chart

Enter any two of dry bulb, wet bulb, RH or dew point. Get humidity ratio, grains, enthalpy and specific volume, and plot return and supply on a live chart.

What this means

Every air condition sits at one point on the chart. Knowing two properties fixes the rest. Plot the return air and the supply air to see how much moisture the coil removes (vertical drop) and how much heat it removes (change in enthalpy). A line that goes straight left is sensible cooling only; a line that drops down and left means the coil is also dehumidifying.

Formula used

  • Saturation pressure: Hyland-Wexler equations (ASHRAE Fundamentals)
  • W = 0.621945 × pw / (p − pw)
  • h (Btu/lb) = 0.240 × t + W × (1061 + 0.444 × t)
  • v = 0.287042 × (t + 273.15) × (1 + 1.607858 × W) / p (SI)
  • Pressure from altitude: p = 101.325 × (1 − 2.25577e-5 × Z)^5.2559 kPa
