Dew point, RH and wet bulb calculator

Quick field calculator for dew point, relative humidity and wet bulb from your dry bulb reading. Same ASHRAE engine as our psychrometric chart.

What this means

Dew point is the temperature where moisture starts to condense. If a duct, pipe or surface is colder than the dew point of the air around it, it will sweat. Relative humidity alone can mislead because it changes with temperature; dew point tells you how much moisture is really in the air.

Formula used

  • Saturation pressure: Hyland-Wexler (ASHRAE Fundamentals)
  • pw = RH × pws(dry bulb)
  • Dew point = temperature where pws(t) = pw
  • Wet bulb solved from the ASHRAE wet bulb equation
